OKLAHOMA CITY — The USA Softball Women’s National Team (WNT) has arrived in Oklahoma City ahead of the 2026 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women’s Softball World Cup Group C Stage Event, set for Sept. 12-16 at Devon Park. With a spot in the 2027 WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Finals on the line, Team USA will compete alongside five international opponents in the Softball Capital of the World®.
Team USA will hold a six-day training camp ahead of the event, bringing together members of the U.S. WNT Athlete Pool and eight practice players — Jadelyn Allchin, Kenzie Brown, Kendra Falby, Maya Johnson, Sydney Romero, Sydney Stewart, Isa Torres and Sami Williams. Earlier this year, all 36 members of the Athlete Pool competed in the USA Softball International Cup, with the U.S. WNT claiming gold and the U.S. Elite Team finishing third.
With 18 teams competing across three groups (Groups A, B and C), Team USA will battle it out in the Group C event alongside five other countries in the Softball Capital of the World®, while Group A teams previously competed in the Czech Republic and Group B teams in Peru. Featuring a two-stage format, the top two teams from each group, along with two wild card selections, will earn a spot in the WBSC Women’s World Cup Finals to be held in 2027 in Redcliffe, Australia. Held earlier this year, Canada and Chinese Taipei secured their tickets to the 2027 Finals during the Group A event, while Japan, Puerto Rico and Australia (wild card) will represent Group B in the Finals.

Set to kick off the action on Saturday, Sept. 12 at Devon Park, world-ranked No. 2 Team USA will face No. 6 Netherlands, No. 7 Mexico, No. 8 China, No. 17 Brazil and No. 23 New Zealand during the five-day competition. As hosts of a WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Group Stage Event, Team USA received an automatic bid into the Group C event.
Team USA will take the field each evening at 7 p.m. CT, with an additional 1 p.m. CT game scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 13. Following pool play, the top four teams will advance to the playoff round on Wednesday, Sept. 16, where the top two teams will go head-to-head for a chance to advance to the Finals. The loser of the first playoff game will then take on the winner of the matchup between the third- and fourth-place teams for the second spot in the Finals. Additionally, a wild card will be awarded following the Group C event. The game schedule is as follows:
- USA vs Mexico — Saturday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. CT
- USA vs Brazil — Sunday, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. CT
- USA vs Netherlands — Sunday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. CT
- USA vs New Zealand — Monday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. CT
- USA vs China — Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. CT
- Playoff Round — Wednesday, Sept. 16

The WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Group C Event will be streamed on GameTime. Fans can purchase the Group Pass for $14.99, providing access to all 19 games played within the subscribed group. Through the WBSC’s partnership, all games will also be available on the All Women’s Sports Network. Led by head coach Patty Gasso and assistant coaches John Bargfeldt, JT Gasso, Caitlin Lowe and Jen Rocha, the U.S. looks to continue its historic success on the international stage, having finished on the podium in 16 of the 17 editions of the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup, winning 11 gold and five silver medals.
Announced earlier this year, the 2026 U.S. WNT World Cup Group C roster features eight returners from the 2025 World Games gold medal squad. Also highlighting the roster are two members from the 2020 U.S. Olympic Softball Team that helped the Eagles earn silver at the Tokyo Olympic Games: Rachel Garcia and Dejah Mulipola.
The selected athletes represent three athletic conferences (SEC – 11, Big Ten – 3, Big 12 – 2), with two 2026 graduates and 14 former student-athletes from nine NCAA Division I universities. Oklahoma leads all schools with four athletes, followed by UCLA with three, while Kentucky and Tennessee each tab two athletes. Other universities represented include Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Oklahoma State and Texas, with one athlete apiece.
