The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has announced Devon Park as one of three hosts for the 2026 WBSC Women’s World Cup Group Stage Events — joining Lima, Peru, and Prague, Czechia, as the Group Stage 2026 hosts.
With the Group Stages taking place in 2026, the upcoming event is the second to be played under the new two-stage format where the Group Stage and the Finals are held in consecutive years. A total of 18 teams are divided into three groups of six teams each. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Finals in 2027.

Eagles open 2026 WBSC World Cup Group Stage with 11-0 win over Mexico
The world-ranked No. 2 U.S. Women’s National Team (WNT) kicked off the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) World Cup Group C Stage Event today with a dominant 11-0 shutout over No. 7 Mexico, highlighted by a perfect 2-for-2 day at the plate from Team USA veteran Janae Jefferson and home runs off the bats of Alyssa Brito, Tiare Jennings and Dejah Mulipola. The pitching staff of Rachel Garcia and Lexi Kilfoyl took control in the circle, with Garcia setting the tone through the first three innings before Kilfoyl recorded the final three outs to seal the win for Team USA.
Despite a quiet first inning, the U.S. offense came alive in the bottom of the second thanks to a two-RBI single from Janae Jefferson and a two-run double from Erin Coffel to put the Eagles ahead, 4-0. The Eagles tacked on seven more runs in the bottom of the third after a pair of home runs from Jennings and Brito extended the lead to 7-0, while doubles from Brady and Leach added two more. Mulipola tacked on the final two runs with an inside-the-park home run to bring the lead to 11-0. Kilfoyl held steady in the top of the fourth to seal the run-rule win.
Garcia kept the Mexico bats quiet, not allowing a single hit and recording five strikeouts before handing things over to Kilfoyl, who closed out the final inning with one strikeout while allowing one hit.
Team USA improves to 3-0 at the WBSC Women’s World Cup Group C Event after back-to-back wins over Brazil and the Netherlands
The U.S. Women’s National Team (WNT) proved dominant on Day 2 of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) World Cup Group C Stage Event, outscoring its opponents 25-0 with a pair of run-rule victories over Brazil (17-0 – four innings) and the Netherlands (8-0 – five innings). Today’s win over the Netherlands marks Team USA’s third straight shutout win of the tournament.
Against Brazil, Megan Grant shone bright, collecting seven RBIs in the win while going 3-for-4 with two singles and a home run. Maya Brady (2-for-2), Jayda Coleman (2-for-2) and Erin Coffel (2-for-4) also turned in multi-hit performances against Brazil.
In the second game of the day, Skylar Wallace (2-for-3) and Coleman (2-for-2) each turned in multi-hit performances, while Coleman, Grant and Dejah Mulipola each blasted a home run in the matchup.
The U.S. offense came out firing in the two wins, combining for 20 hits, with Coleman and Grant each tallying four hits on the day, while Brady, Coffel, Aubrey Leach and Wallace followed with two hits apiece. The U.S. offense also posted six home runs on the day, with Grant launching one in both matchups.
Kelly Maxwell took care of business in the circle against Brazil, fanning seven batters through four innings. Keeping the momentum, Montana Fouts got the start against the Netherlands, tossing eight strikeouts through five innings to seal the win. The pitching staff combined for 15 strikeouts on the day while not allowing a single run through nine innings.

Continuing to take care of business at the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) World Cup Group C Stage Event, the U.S. Women’s National Team (WNT) remains undefeated after claiming a 9-0 run-rule win over New Zealand. Maya Brady highlighted the U.S. offense, tallying a 3-for-4 day at the plate, including a solo shot in the top of the fifth – her second home run of the tournament – while six additional Eagles turned in 2-for-3 performances.
Karlyn Pickens got the start in the circle for the Eagles, fanning 10 batters through five innings while allowing just one hit. Today’s win marks Team USA’s fourth-straight shutout of the tournament.
The Red, White and Blue wasted no time getting on the board, stringing together a series of singles, a sac-fly from Megan Grant and a triple from Skylar Wallace to take an early 4-0 lead in the top of the first. Brady kept the momentum going in the top of the second with an RBI-single to plate one and extend the lead to 5-0. New Zealand managed to quiet the U.S. bats through the third and fourth innings, but back-to-back RBI-singles from Aubrey Leach and Kayla Kowalik reignited the spark in the top of the fifth. Janae Jefferson followed with an RBI-triple down the right field line before a sac-fly from Jayda Coleman brought the lead to 8-0. Brady capped the scoring in a big way, launching a solo shot for her third hit of the night to widen the U.S. lead to 9-0. Pickens and the U.S. defense held steady in the bottom of the fifth, retiring the side in order to seal the shutout win.

Team USA improved to 5-0 at the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) World Cup Group C Stage Event following a 7-0 run-rule victory (six innings) over China to close out Opening Round and advance to the final contest as the No. 1 seed in Group C. The Red, White and Blue will face China again tomorrow at 1 p.m. CT, with a ticket to the 2027 WBSC World Cup Finals on the line.
Scoring in four of the six innings played, the Eagles came out strong in game five, with seven U.S. batters tabbing at least one hit in the matchup. The only multi-hit performance came from Skylar Wallace (3-for-4), who recorded two singles, a double and three RBI. Proving dominant on offense, Team USA posted seven runs on nine hits, with home runs off the bats of Rachel Garcia, Megan Grant, Aubrey Leach and Dejah Mulipola helping propel the U.S. offense to the win. Behind four home runs, the U.S. Women’s National Team (WNT) posted its final win of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) World Cup Group C Stage Event, defeating China in a 7-0 run-rule victory to punch its ticket to the 2027 WBSC Women’s World Cup Finals. The U.S. and China met in the No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup, while the Netherlands and Mexico finished the Opening Round in the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, respectively. Team USA’s win sends China to face the winner of the No. 3/4 matchup for the second spot in the Finals.
With a trip to the 2027 WBSC Women’s World Cup Finals on the line, the U.S. and China kicked off the action at 1 p.m. CT. Maya Brady led the charge offensively for the Eagles, going 3-for-4 with all three hits leaving the park. Kayla Kowalik also turned in a multi-hit performance while three other U.S. batters recorded a hit in the matchup, including a two-run blast from Tiare Jennings in the bottom of the first.

China managed to quiet the U.S. bats over the next three innings, but Brady once again came through in the bottom of the sixth to walk it off with a two-run shot.
Today’s win marks Team USA’s sixth-straight shutout en route to clinching its spot in the WBSC World Cup Finals, with Opening Round wins over Mexico, Brazil, the Netherlands, New Zealand and China. The U.S. WNT dominated throughout the tournament, winning each matchup via the run-rule. Leading the U.S. offense during its undefeated campaign through the Group C event was Brady with a .647 batting average, followed by Jayda Coleman (.615) and Aubrey Leach (.545). The U.S. pitching staff of Montana Fouts, Garcia, Lexi Kilfoyl, Kelly Maxwell and Pickens shined in the six wins, totaling 49 strikeouts and allowing just eight hits while not giving up a single run.
