The 2026 International Cup, a WBSC-sanctioned event, includes four of the world’s top 10 teams: No. 1 Japan, No. 2 USA, No. 4 Canada and No. 8 China. Also competing are No. 11 Australia, No. 42 American Samoa and the USA Women’s Elite Team.
“We’re excited to welcome the International Cup back to Oklahoma City,” said USA Softball CEO Craig Cress. “With some of the top teams in the world competing in this year’s event, fans will enjoy an elite, five-day experience and get a preview of future international competitions that will be held in OKC, including the softball portion of the LA28 Olympics. We look forward to hosting these teams and showcasing world-class softball in the Softball Capital of the World.®”
Since the event’s inception in 2005, Team USA has compiled an 83-7 all-time record and has secured 11 of 14 tournament titles, while Japan has won the remaining three. Japan, which has participated in all but one tournament since 2005, holds an overall record of 58-26, while Canada—also appearing in 13 of 14 events—has recorded 49 wins and 33 losses. Australia owns a 26-22 record across eight appearances, while China is 16-22 in six editions. American Samoa will participate for the first time in tournament history.
Known as the Softball Capital of the World® and home to the legendary Devon Park – OGE Energy Field, Oklahoma City has played host to some of the largest softball events in the United States – including the NCAA Women’s College World Series (WCWS), the World Cup of Softball, Border Battle and various USA Softball National Championships across all age-divisions. An infrastructure built for the sport’s largest crowds, the complex has seen improvements over the years with some of the most recent being an added upper deck that increased capacity by 4,000 seats, a three-story press box as well as upgraded ticket windows and complex entrances.
