Hypatia Women CEO ETF named an Official ETF of USA Softball

OKLAHOMA CITY – USA Softball, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States, is excited to announce Hypatia Women CEO ETF (“WCEO”) as an Official ETF partner of USA Softball. An exchange-traded fund managed by Hypatia, WCEO and its partnership with USA Softball will be highlighted by educational initiatives to allow youth to be inspired and encouraged to engage proactively with their lifelong financial journeys. Such initiatives include a financial literacy program, an inspirational women business leaders speaker series and an objectives-based initiative to introduce members of USA Softball to the benefits of investing early.

“This partnership with WCEO is a great opportunity for our membership to receive educational resources that will benefit their financial journeys in a variety of ways,” said USA Softball Chief Financial Officer, Cheryl Bond. “In addition to the wealth of knowledge that the Hypatia WCEO ETF will bring to USA Softball, their strong presence of supporting women across all industries is something we look forward to joining forces with.”

The Hypatia WCEO ETF invests in American public companies, small to mega cap, that are led by female CEOs. WCEO currently invests in 126 companies – the three largest companies by market capitalization being Oracle (ORCL), Accenture (ACN) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and are led by Safra Katz, Julie Sweet, and Lisa Su, respectively.

Programming provided by the Hypatia WCEO ETF will be available online to the USA Softball community and at selective USA Softball national events across the country.

“The Hypatia WCEO ETF is proud to be named an Official ETF of USA Softball,” said managing partner of Hypatia Capital and the WCEO ETF, Patricia Lizarraga. “This partnership is an excellent fit with our mission to inspire youth to invest early, invest often and invest in women.”

A global study of male and female C-Suite executives conducted by EY and espnW between 2013 and 2016 found an undeniable correlation between athletic and business success. Numerous studies, such as by the Women’s Sports Foundation and Dana Voelker at West Virginia University, support the finding that girls who engage in sports are more actively exposed to leadership skill development.  Through sports, young athletes have opportunities to practice decision-making, problem-solving and communication skills – all which are essential for leadership roles.

About Hypatia WCEO ETF

The Hypatia WCEO ETF, managed by Hypatia Capital Management, is an active ETF investing in American public companies with female CEOs, small to mega cap.  Its investment thesis is that female CEOs will outperform, as it is currently harder for women to rise to the CEO level in corporate America.  The WCEO is benchmarked to the FT Wilshire Small Cap Index, and trades on the New York Stock Exchange.

Because the Fund invests primarily in components of the Index, the Fund’s investments are subject to the risks associated with changes to the Index. A ‘wish’ come true: USA Softball hosts Make-A-Wish recipient at 2023 U.S. Women’s Fast Pitch Camp

VERO BEACH, Fla. – It was more than Team USA hopefuls taking the field at this year’s U.S. Women’s Fast Pitch Camp as Kaydence Barnes – a 16-year-old Make-A-Wish recipient – joined the athletes for the two-day camp held at Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Fla. Granting the wish for Kaydence was the Make-A-Wish Foundation after she expressed that her ultimate wish was to “meet the U.S. Women’s Softball Team” – a wish USA Softball was thrilled to help fulfill.

Kaydence has battled with epilepsy her entire life, while recently being diagnosed with POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). Traveling all the way from Topeka, Kan., Barnes was joined with her mom – who she credits for getting her involved in the game – as well as her best friend Taryn and aunt Jenny, who have been two of her biggest supporters throughout her journey. Her love for the game started when she was six years old and has only grown stronger ever since.

A 𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘩 come true ✨

16-year-old @MakeAWish recipient, Kaydence Barnes, was among the @USASoftballWNT camp participants – Fulfilling a lifelong dream of repping the 🔴⚪️🔵 for the sport she loves most.

— USA Softball (@USASoftball) June 15, 2023

“Once I gave softball a shot, I instantly fell in love,” said Kaydence. “It allows me to meet new friends who always turn into family. It allows me to compete, and most of all – which is my favorite – it allows me to slide and dive on the field whenever I want.”

That love and passion for the game is what formed one of her three wishes for the Make-A-Wish foundation – to meet the U.S. Women’s National Team, which was joined with a wish to meet Patrick Mahomes and Kevin Hart. When asked which wish she wanted the most, it was the sport she loves the most that came to mind.

“I chose this wish because it was the wish that involved what I love most – playing softball,” she said. “I remember watching Team USA on TV when I was younger and my mom saying to me ‘that could be you one day’ – and I mean, here I am… Hanging out with the team and the coaches.”

Throughout the camp, Kaydence joined the athletes on the field as a bat girl while also getting to know them off the field – an experience she noted as her most favorite. “The girls are so fun and goofy and nice. They’ve truly made me feel like a part of the family – They are incredible.”

At the conclusion of the camp, Kaydence was presented with an Olympic softball jersey signed by her favorite athlete – Cat Osterman, who just so happened to also be the one to present it. “That was truly something I never thought would happen. I can’t stop crying because of how happy I am,” Kaydence expressed.

A true advocate for children of all ages with disabilities, Kaydence aims to be an example that you can do whatever you want to do with the right amount of effort and hard work. “It doesn’t matter who you are and having a disability is nothing to be ashamed of. It doesn’t define me, and it shouldn’t define anyone else, either.”
