- In 2024, Walton was announced as a member of the 2024 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class.
- Walton led the Gators to its 12th overall WCWS appearance in 2024. He has guided the squad to 18 NCAA Regional appearances, 15 Super Regionals and 12 WCWS, along with 9 SEC Regular Season Championships and 6 SEC Tournament Championships during his tenure.
- Walton is a five-time SEC Coach of the Year and has led the Gators to 364 school records and numerous SEC records.
- In 2015, Walton and his staff were recognized as the NFCA Coaching Staff of the Year, along with being a five-time selection for the NFCA Southeast Region Coaching Staff of the Year.
