- What it means to represent the United States: I feel like representing my country is the ultimate prize for the hard work and years of dedication to the sport. It’s the pinnacle of our sport and I am never more proud than when I put on the USA jersey.
- Who are your role models in the game: I’ve learned a lot from a lot of people. My dad being one but a lot of guys from his old team, The Tarkenton Brothers back in Brooklyn, WI helped me learn the game. As I got older, guys like Jon Zipperer, Stacy McLean and Craig Watermolen were big influences, and now I follow the very cerebral teachings and almost zen-like path of Jason Porto.
- How did you get started in softball: My dad was a pitcher so I grew up at the ballpark. When I was 17, he asked my brother and I to play a little league ball. I have been chasing every game I can play ever since.
