OKLAHOMA CITY — USA Softball has announced the U.S. Men’s National Team (MNT) roster set to compete in the 2025 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Men’s World Cup Finals. Slated for July 8-13, the 16-player roster will travel to Prince Albert, Canada where they will look to stand atop the podium for the first time since 1988. The Eagles recently led an undefeated campaign at the 2024 WBSC World Cup Group C Stage 1 Event last year in Oklahoma City where they secured participation in the Finals.
“We’re excited for this group leading into what will be an exciting and challenging summer,” said head coach, Ron Hackett. “With that being said, make no mistake — our goals and expectations don’t change, and we intend to compete for a gold medal at the upcoming World Cup Finals. This roster and coaching staff are ready and willing to put in the work needed to achieve that goal.”

The first of its kind to be played under the new two-stage format, a total of six games will be played in the World Cup Finals as world-ranked No. 6 Team USA will open the tournament in Group B alongside No. 2 Australia, No. 3 Japan, and No. 11 Dominican Republic, while No. 1 Argentina, No. 4 Canada, No. 5 Venezuela, and No. 8 New Zealand will battle it out in Group A. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Round for a chance to compete in the Medal Round.
Ron Hackett is set to return as head coach for his fourth stint, bringing valuable experience after successfully leading the 2022 (MNT) to a historic bronze medal finish at the WBSC World Cup, which marked the end of an 18-year medal drought for the program. He will be joined in Canada by returning assistant coaches Greg Hicks, Gerald Muizelaar, and Roman Foore, all of whom contribute a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team. Most recently, this coaching staff achieved a remarkable 6-0 record during the 2024 WBSC World Cup Group C Stage Event, securing a spot for the U.S. in the finals.
The 2025 U.S. Men’s National Team (MNT) World Cup Finals roster features 12 returners from the 2024 season, where the Eagles secured the top spot at the WBSC World Cup Group C Stage Event. The roster also includes Junior Men’s National Team veterans Braden and Brennan DuCharme, as well as former U-23 MNT member Tyler Damon. Additionally, Brad Kilpatrick returns to the field after being part of the historic 2022 squad.
The selected athletes represent seven states with Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin leading the pack with three athletes apiece, while Arizona, California, and Florida are each represented by two athletes. Michigan is also represented on the roster with one athlete.
