OKLAHOMA CITY – The annual Hosea Bell Red Dirt Softball Classic has come to an end, bringing an action-packed weekend to Devon Park. The annual round-robin tournament delivered high-level competition while honoring the legacy of the late Coach Hosea Bell, bringing a memorable weekend of play to the Softball Capital of the World®.
A special moment of the event came as a tribute that emphasized Coach Bell’s legacy and how it continues to inspire through events like the Red Dirt Softball Classic. Following the tribute, players and coaches gathered on the OG&E Field for a celebration in Coach Bell’s honor, dancing to his favorite song, the Cupid Shuffle. The display captured the true essence of the tournament—competition, community, and a shared love for the game.
Standout performances of the weekend included Mid-America Christian University (MACU) dominating with back-to-back wins, shutting out Bethel 9-0 before securing a 9-1 victory over Haskell. Oklahoma Wesleyan (OKWU) also delivered a commanding performance, posting a 20-0 shutout over Harris-Stowe and following up with a 6-1 win over Langston.
