The Women’s Open Slow Pitch National Championships took place September 7-8 at the Softball Capital of the World® as teams took the field on Saturday morning in pursuit of the 2024 National Championship title. The Women’s C & D National Championships also took place over the weekend.
T24/Native claimed the hardware at the 2024 Women’s Open Slow Pitch National Championship while posting a perfect 4-0 record through the tournament – concluding the weekend with a 16-6 Championship victory over Derby Girls/Easton/Miken/Worth/OA Apparel.
The opening day of the USA Softball 2024 Women’s Open Slow Pitch National Championship at Devon Park showcased thrilling matchups and impressive performances from all teams. Here’s a recap of the highlights from the day:
The Pack’s Offense Sparks Big Win Against Ooh Got Em:
The Pack secured a decisive 17-7 victory over Ooh Got Em, driven by a remarkable nine-run fourth inning. Despite an early lead by Ooh Got Em, The Pack’s Shaylon Wells and Makila Box led a turnaround, with Box and Sahara Henson each driving in three runs. Ooh Got Em struggled with pitching, as Makayla Hughes allowed 13 runs over three innings. The Pack capitalized with a disciplined approach, drawing 14 walks and showcasing solid defense.
T24/Native Outlasts Monsta/Dirty Sports in a Slugfest:
In a high-scoring clash, T24/Native outlasted Monsta/Dirty Sports 20-10. Angelia Jones led T24/Native with four hits, including a home run, while Patrika Barlow contributed four RBIs. Despite Monsta/Dirty Sports’ efforts, including a strong performance from Meagan Pearson and Karina Rocha, their pitching struggled under the relentless T24/Native offense, which amassed 27 hits.
Derby Girls/Easton/Miken/Worth/OA Apparel Dominates JMI Sports:
Derby Girls/Easton/Miken/Worth/OA Apparel triumphed 16-1 over JMI Sports, with Fiana Finau’s three hits and Megan Baltzell’s early homer setting the tone. The team’s potent lineup was too much for JMI Sports, who could not contain the offensive onslaught led by Finau, Richie, and Pauly. Pauly also excelled in the circle, allowing just one run over four innings.
All Armed Forces (W) Survive Against The Pack:
All Armed Forces (W) edged The Pack 16-7, fueled by Val Proulx’s impressive performance with four RBIs. All Armed Forces (W) built an early lead with contributions from Erica Damone and Brigette Blondell. Despite a strong effort from Sahara Henson, The Pack couldn’t overcome the offensive power and pitching of All Armed Forces (W), who accumulated 21 hits in the game.
Monsta/Dirty Sports and JMI Sports Battle to a Draw:
In a thrilling encounter, Monsta/Dirty Sports and JMI Sports finished in a 14-14 tie. Angie Cloyd’s three hits and a late-game triple by Pearson were highlights for Monsta/Dirty Sports. JMI Sports’ Brooke Keeling and Kynzie Zellner made significant contributions, but both teams struggled with pitching, leading to a high-scoring affair and a well-fought tie.
All Armed Forces (W) Falter Against Monsta/Dirty Sports:
All Armed Forces (W) faced a tough loss, 18-8, against Monsta/Dirty Sports. Despite strong performances from Val Proulx and Lexi LeGrand, All Armed Forces (W) struggled defensively and in the pitching circle. Monsta/Dirty Sports’ offensive prowess, led by Karina Rocha and Sarah Davis, proved too much for All Armed Forces (W), who gave up 23 hits in the game.
T24/Native Defeats Derby Girls/Easton/Miken/Worth/OA Apparel:
Patrika Barlow drove in four runs to help T24/Native secure a 16-6 win over Derby Girls/Easton/Miken/Worth/OA Apparel. The team’s aggressive hitting, highlighted by Barlow and a collective 21 hits, overwhelmed Derby Girls/Easton/Miken/Worth/OA Apparel. Despite a strong start from Carmen Fowler, Derby Girls/Easton/Miken/Worth/OA Apparel could not match T24/Native’s offensive output.

Derby Girls/Easton/Miken/Worth/OA Apparel Dominates Monsta/Dirty Sports
Derby Girls/Easton/Miken/Worth/OA Apparel put on a dominant display, defeating Monsta/Dirty Sports 18-4. Megan Baltzell led the charge with two home runs and four RBIs, showcasing her power with long balls in the third and fifth innings.
Monsta/Dirty Sports initially took the lead with Karina Rocha’s double in the first inning. However, Derby Girls/Easton/Miken/Worth/OA Apparel responded swiftly. Carmen Fowler’s triple in the second inning scored two runs, and Celine Kealiinohomoku added another run with a sacrifice fly.
The game shifted decisively in the third inning, as Derby Girls/Easton/Miken/Worth/OA Apparel scored four runs on five hits. Baltzell’s solo homer was complemented by Terri Ross’s double, Randi Pauly’s sacrifice fly, and Amanda Lynch’s single, extending their lead.
The fifth inning was particularly notable, with Derby Girls/Easton/Miken/Worth/OA Apparel scoring seven runs on eight hits. Dani Wayt’s double, Baltzell’s three-run homer, Ross’s double, and Pauly’s double highlighted a stellar offensive performance that secured the win.
Pitcher Randi Pauly allowed 15 hits and four runs over five innings, with one strikeout and no walks. Whitney Joslin for Monsta/Dirty Sports struggled, giving up 21 hits and 18 runs over five innings without recording any strikeouts and walking two.

Derby Girls/Easton/Miken/Worth/OA Apparel began with a run-scoring double from Fiana Finau in the first inning. T24/Native quickly took control with a 3-1 lead, thanks to an error and hits from Angelia Jones and Tara Licuanan.
Dani Wayt’s double in the second inning tied the game, but T24/Native regained the lead with RBIs from Amy Reynolds, Kimberly Spivey, and Patrika Barlow.
Finau’s solo home run in the third was not enough as T24/Native added runs from Licuanan and Jessica Beaver. The game was decided in the sixth inning when T24/Native scored seven runs on eight hits, highlighted by Spivey’s two-run single and extra-base hits from Alexandra Webb, Chelsea Showers, and Jaexenne Balilea.
Randi Pauly of Derby Girls/Easton/Miken/Worth/OA Apparel allowed 19 hits and 16 runs over five and one-third innings, while T24/Native’s Tara Licuanan gave up 11 hits and six runs over six innings.
