OKLAHOMA CITY (May 8, 2024) – The Phillips 66 Big 12 Softball Championship is set to be the first official event at the newly announced, Devon Park. The 10-team single elimination tournament is a new format adapted by the Big 12 and will begin Wednesday, May 8 and run through Saturday, May 11. All games will be played in the stadium on OGE Energy Field.

The Big 12 Conference features three of the top-5 teams in the nation according to the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll. It is highlighted by the regular season champion no. 1 Texas (45-6), followed by no. 2 Oklahoma State (44-9), and no. 4 Oklahoma (46-6). Baylor (31-19) is among those receiving votes.
The first two matchups will be played on Wednesday, May 8 as seventh-seeded Kansas (27-24-1) and tenth-seeded Houston (25-29) face off in the opening game to kick off the tournament at 5 p.m. Immediately following will be the matchup between eighth-seeded Texas Tech (28-20) and ninth-seeded Iowa State (20-30) at 7:30 p.m.
For the first time since 2010, the Longhorns claimed the one-seed and were the outright regular season champ with a league best 23-victories in Big 12 play. Texas has been no.1 in the nation for five weeks straight after winning the Big 12 series over Oklahoma. They will face off against the winner of Texas Tech and Iowa State on Thursday, May 9 at 5 p.m.
Oklahoma will be the second seed in the tournament, they wrapped up conference play at 22-5 and have been ranked in the top-5 all year holding the no.1 seed for seven of the 13 weeks. The Sooners played two regular season games throughout the season at Devon Park going 2-0 defeating Baylor and Tulsa. They will await their opponent from the Kansas and Houston matchup and play Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
Third-seeded Oklahoma State and sixth-seeded Brigham Young (BYU) will open up day two at 11 a.m. Oklahoma State comes off a big weekend winning the Bedlam series, the Cowgirls have been ranked in the top-10 all season long. BYU (30-22) comes into the tournament with a road sweep of Kansas and four-game win streak.
Fourth-seeded Baylor and fifth-seeded Central Florida (UCF) will be the night cap with a 7:30 p.m. showdown Baylor comes in on a nine-game win streak and swept the series over UCF in the regular season. UCF (30-22) comes in on a two-game win streak winning their series finale over Iowa State.
The semifinals will be on Friday at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. with the championship game on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. All games will be streamed on Big12 Now which can be found on the ESPN+ app. The championship game will be streamed on ESPN2.

All-Tournament tickets as well as Single Day tickets are available and can be purchased here. Children under the age of two will receive free entry.
Parking will be available at Devon Park for $20 per day (cash or credit). Re-entry is not permitted. Fans who leave the complex parking lot will be required to pay $20 upon return. The parking lot gates will open at 8 a.m. every day while the fan gates will open one hour prior to the first scheduled game of the day.
The USA Softball Hall of Fame and Museum will be open to the public from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday.
