OKLAHOMA CITY- The USA Softball Hall of Fame complex will kick off its highly anticipated 2024 event schedule as the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Softball Classic will be the first to the plate with its return to the Softball Capitol of the World ® slated for March 1-2. The two-day round-robin event hosted by Langston University will feature 12 collegiate programs from six states throughout the Midwest beginning Friday, March 1.
“Langston University is proud to host the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Softball Classic once again at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex,” said Langston University Director of Athletics, Donnita Rogers. “Since the onset of our Classic, student-athletes from small colleges and universities all over the nation have been given the opportunity to showcase their skills the first weekend of March at the complex. Each year, the Classic includes featured games between Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and it has been our hope to show young girls, especially young girls of color, that their love for softball can lead to opportunities to play at the next level while earning a college degree.”
Games will begin on Friday, March 1, with three games scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. as MidAmerica Christian faces McPherson, Langston meets Bethel and Arkansas-Pine Bluff squares off against Oklahoma City University. Each day will feature 12 games played across three fields including the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium-OGE Energy Field.
