Created in 2009, the annual Border Battle enters its 15th season of international matchups between USA Softball and Canada Slow Pitch National Teams with this year’s event returning to Devon Park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The action will kick off with exhibition contests ahead of the annual Slow Pitch Showdown where the Men’s Slow Pitch National Team (MSPNT) and Women’s Slow Pitch National Team (WSPNT) will face off against their respective U.S. Futures teams. Capping the weekend, Team USA will matchup against Team Canada for the Men’s and Women’s Border Battle XIV competition scheduled for Saturday, July 26.

2025 Border Battle Recap – Day 1
The highly anticipated 2025 edition of Border Battle began today at Devon Park in the Softball Capital of the World®. The U.S. Slow Pitch National Teams, U.S. Futures Teams, and Canada’s Slow Pitch National Teams faced off against local grassroots clubs as they gear up for the USA Slow Pitch Showdown and Border Battle matchups set to take place over the next two days.
U.S. WOMEN’S SLOW PITCH NATIONAL TEAM
The U.S. Women’s Slow Pitch National Team (WSPNT) kicked off their Border Battle XV campaign this afternoon with a dominant 15-0 run-rule victory (four innings) over local Oklahoma team JMI Sports. Fueled by an explosive offensive performance, the Eagles scored in every inning and tallied 15 total hits, with four players recording multi-hit games — including perfect 3-for-3 performances from Sarah Davis and Jessica Tolbert. Team USA will return to OG&E Field tomorrow for a 4 p.m. CT matchup against Smash It/Tolbert’s All-Stars, followed by the USA Women’s Slow Pitch Showdown at 7 p.m. CT.
U.S. WOMEN’S FUTURES SLOW PITCH NATIONAL TEAM
The U.S. Women’s Futures came out strong on Day 1 of Border Battle XV, earning wins over Smash It/Tolbert’s All Stars (14–10) and Team Canada (16–6). The squad racked up 38 hits across both games, with standout multi-hit days at the plate from Nicole Matson (5-for-6), Karina Rocha (5-for-7), and Kristina Sherriff (5-for-6). Alexandra Webb highlighted the offense with an inside-the-park home run in Game 1, while Rocha and Sherriff each tabbed triples in the second matchup. The Women’s Futures will return to action tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. CT against OA Apparel/Tolbert’s Legends, followed by the 2025 USA Women’s Slow Pitch Showdown at 7 p.m. CT against the U.S. Women’s Slow Pitch National Team.
U.S. MEN’S SLOW PITCH NATIONAL TEAM
The U.S. Men’s Slow Pitch National Team (MSPNT) opened its Border Battle XV run with a dominant 26-6 (four-inning) run-rule victory over Elevate & Celebrate, powered by eight home runs — including three from Jason Matusik (3-for-3). The Red, White and Blue tallied 24 total hits in the win, with perfect performances at the plate from Austin Andrews (3-for-3), Andrew Collins (3-for-3), Ben Dunn (2-for-2), and Brandon Yoder (2-for-2), alongside four additional multi-hit showings from the rest of the squad. The Eagles continue their 2025 Border Battle campaign tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. CT against Anarchy/GGC/TWP, followed by a matchup with the Men’s Futures at 8:30 p.m. CT in the USA Men’s Slow Pitch Showdown.
U.S. MEN’S FUTURES SLOW PITCH NATIONAL TEAM
Following a 12-run fourth inning, the U.S. Men’s Futures team opened the day with a 25-3 (four-inning) win over Anarchy/GGC/TWP. The U.S. bats came out strong with six players launching a home run in the matchup, while 11 batters recorded at least one hit — combining for 23 total hits and a .697 team batting average. The momentum continued into Game 2, where the Futures posted a 20-5 victory over Team Canada, racking up another 23 hits and nine home runs — including two from Tyler Storey. With an undefeated 2-0 record heading into Day 2, the Eagles will take the field against Elevate & Celebrate tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. CT before going head-to-head against the U.S. Men’s Slow Pitch National Team in the 2025 Men’s USA Slow Pitch Showdown at 8:30 p.m. CT.

2025 Border Battle Recap – Day 2
Day two of the 2025 edition of Border Battle saw the action continue at Devon Park in Oklahoma City as the U.S. Slow Pitch National Teams, U.S. Futures Teams and Canada Slow Pitch National Teams went head-to-head with various grassroots clubs as well as competed in the annual USA Slow Pitch Showdown. The Men’s and Women’s teams are looking ahead to the Border Battle matchups set to take place tomorrow.
U.S. WOMEN’S SLOW PITCH NATIONAL TEAM
The U.S. Women’s Slow Pitch National Team (WSPNT) opened Day 2 with a dominant 16-0 (four innings) shutout win over Kansas-based Smash It/Tolbert’s All-Stars, highlighted by a perfect 3-for-3 performance at the plate from Terri Ross. The Eagles tallied 16 hits and posted a .615 team batting average, with 10 U.S. batters recording at least one hit in the matchup.
U.S. WOMEN’S FUTURES SLOW PITCH NATIONAL TEAM
The U.S. Women’s Futures kicked off the day with a hard-fought 9-8 win over JMI Sports that included a combined 12 hits and three multi-hit performances. Amy Reynolds posted a perfect 3-for-3 showing at the plate, while Angelia Jones, Val Proulx, and Alexandra Webb each drove in two runs apiece to lead the offense. The Women’s Futures will wrap up their Border Battle XV campaign tomorrow with matchups against Smash It/Tolbert’s All-Stars (1 p.m. CT) and JMI Sports (4 p.m. CT).
2025 WOMEN’S SLOW PITCH SHOWDOWN
In the annual Slow Pitch Showdown, the U.S. Women’s Slow Pitch National Team (WSPNT) claimed a 13-9 win over the Women’s Futures. The WSPNT struck early with two runs in the bottom of the first thanks to a sac-fly from Meagan Pearson and a triple from Ruby Richie. The Futures responded in the top of the second with a triple from Angelia Jones and an RBI-single from Val Proulx to even the score, 2-2. After trading runs in the second and third innings, WSPNT pulled ahead in the fourth with a home run from Richie and an RBI ground out from Terri Ross to regain the lead, 6-3. A seven-run surge in the fifth, highlighted by Richie’s second homer of the game, gave the WSPNT a 13-4 lead. The Futures rallied with six runs across the final three innings but fell short in their comeback bid.
The WSPNT secured the 13-9 victory with a strong offensive showing, tallying 17 hits and seven multi-hit performances. Ruby Richie led the charge with a perfect 3-for-3 outing, including two home runs. On the Women’s Futures side, Val Proulx and Kim Spivey each drove in two runs, while six players recorded multi-hit games. The Futures totaled 16 hits in the loss, with 10 batters tabbing at least one hit.
Today’s Slow Pitch Showdown clinches the WSPNT’s fifth-consecutive win over the Women’s Futures since the event’s inception in 2019, leaving the WSPNT with a 5-0 Slow Pitch Showdown record.

Fueled by an explosive eight-run second inning and an 11-run fourth, the U.S. Men’s Slow Pitch National Team (MSPNT) opened Day 2 of Border Battle with a dominant 27-8 (four innings) run-rule victory over local club Anarchy/GGC/TWP. Andrew Collins and Ben Dunn led the Red, White and Blue in home runs with two apiece to combine for a team total of seven, while Collins recorded a perfect 4-for-4 showing at the plate. The Eagles racked up 26 hits in the win.

The U.S. Men’s Futures continued their undefeated run at Border Battle XV with a dominant 28-12 (five innings) run-rule win over Elevate & Celebrate, improving to 3-0 in their 2025 campaign. Anthony Acevedo and Tyler Storey each blasted two home runs, while the offense combined for 23 hits and six additional homers to reach the 10-home run limit. Team USA will close out its Border Battle slate tomorrow with rematches against Elevate & Celebrate (2:30 p.m. CT) and Anarchy/GGC/TWP (5:30 p.m. CT).
2025 MEN’S SLOW PITCH SHOWDOWN
The Eagle offense was on full display in the 2025 Men’s Slow Pitch Showdown as the U.S. Men’s Slow Pitch National Team (MSPNT) claimed a 27-12 run-rule victory (five innings) over the Men’s Futures. The Futures struck first with four runs in the bottom of the first, capped by a home run from Anthony Acevedo. The MSPNT quickly responded with an eight-run rally in the top of the second, featuring two home runs and three doubles to take an 8-4 lead. The Futures kept the pressure on, scoring three in the second and four more in the third—highlighted by homers from Bryan Dezern and Logan Rogers—to regain the lead, 11-8. The MSPNT fired back with a lead-off home run from Jeremy Fry, a grand slam from Kyle Center, and an RBI-single by Tyler Marshburn to take back the edge, 14-11. The Futures added their final run of the game in the top of the fourth thanks to a double from Daniel Herren, but the MSPNT pulled away with 11 unanswered runs over the next two innings—highlighted by home runs from Andrew Collins and Jason Matusik—to lock in the 27-12 win.
The MSPNT launched seven home runs among 30 hits in the offensive battle, with Collins going 4-for-4 at the plate and tallying two home runs in the matchup. The Men’s Futures collected 12 hits and posted three home runs of their own, courtesy of Anthony Acevedo, Bryan Dezern, and Logan Rogers.
This matchup marks the seventh Slow Pitch Showdown victory for the MSPNT since its inception in 2012, with the MSPNT suffering four losses to the Men’s Futures over the years.

2025 Border Battle Recap – Day 3
The Red, White, and Blue swept the final day of Border Battle XV with victories from both the Men’s and Women’s Futures teams, capped by U.S. wins in the Men’s and Women’s Border Battle matchups against Canada.
U.S. WOMEN’S SLOW PITCH NATIONAL TEAM
The USA Softball Women’s Slow Pitch National Team (WSPNT) opened Day 3 of Border Battle XV in dominant fashion, securing a 22-7 run-rule victory (four innings) over OA Apparel/Tolbert’s Legends. Team USA jumped ahead early with a seven-run first inning, followed by six runs in the second and eight more in the third. The squad tallied 26 hits in the win, with nine players recording multi-hit games — highlighted by Fiana Finau’s perfect 4-for-4 performance.
U.S. WOMEN’S FUTURES SLOW PITCH NATIONAL TEAM
The Women’s Futures capped the weekend with back-to-back wins over Smash It/Tolbert’s All-Stars and JMI Sports, finishing Border Battle XV with a 5-1 record—their only loss coming against the U.S. Women’s Slow Pitch National Team (WSPNT) in the annual Slow Pitch Showdown. In their first matchup of the day, the Futures recorded an 11-4 win over Smash It/Tolbert’s All-Stars, scoring in five of six innings and collecting 16 hits, including five multi-hit performances and a perfect 4-for-4 game from Kristina Sherriff. They carried the momentum into the second game, defeating JMI Sports, 12-1, behind five more multi-hit performances. The Women’s Futures closed out the event with a combined 97 hits and a .497 team batting average.
2025 WOMEN’S BORDER BATTLE
Solid at the plate and sharp on defense, the U.S. Women’s Slow Pitch National Team (WSPNT) secured its sixth-consecutive Border Battle title with a 12-5 victory over Canada, improving to a 6-1 overall record in the annual event. Ruby Richie led the U.S. with a single, double, home run, three RBI, and three runs scored. Additionally, Jessica Tolbert went 4-for-4 with four singles and two runs scored, while Fiana Finau launched two home runs to drive in three. The Red, White, and Blue closed out the weekend with 21 hits in the win, including six multi-hit performances.
Following a lone Canadian run in the top of the first, the U.S. got on the board early with four runs in the bottom half to take a 4-1 lead, thanks to a solo shot from Finau and a string of base hits. Canada briefly pulled ahead in the top of the third with a pair of triples and two singles, making it 5-4. Richie responded with a two-run homer in the bottom of the inning, followed by four straight singles that added two more runs to put the U.S. back in front, 8-5. Finau struck again in the fourth with a two-run blast, while a double from Richie and a single from Tolbert plated the final two runs in the bottom of the sixth to set the U.S. up to record the final three outs in the top of the seventh to seal the 12-5 win.
The U.S. offense combined for a .597 batting average through five games, with 95 hits and 78 total runs. Leading the Eagles with a .917 batting average was Richie, followed by Licuanan (.800), Sarah Davis (.733), and Jessica Tolbert (.733). Finau and Richie were the only two Eagles to post home runs, with each of them recording three.
U.S. MEN’S SLOW PITCH NATIONAL TEAM
A total of 10 home runs — including two each from Andrew Collins and David Johnson — lifted the U.S. MSPNT to a 32-6 run-rule win (four innings) over Anarchy/GGC/TWP on Day 3 of Border Battle XV. The Eagles tallied an impressive 23 hits in the victory, highlighted by four three-hit performances and five two-hit showings at the plate.
U.S. MEN’S FUTURES SLOW PITCH NATIONAL TEAM
Putting up 17 runs in their first game of the day, the Men’s Futures claimed a 17-2 run-rule win (five innings) over Elevate & Celebrate before also defeating Anarchy/GGC/TWP, 27-16, to close out their Border Battle XV run with a 5-1 record — losing only to the U.S. MSPNT in the 2025 Slow Pitch Showdown. The U.S. dominated at the plate, scoring a combined 44 runs on 39 hits while launching 16 home runs across the two matchups. Anthony Acevedo led the Red, White, and Blue at the plate throughout the weekend with a .864 batting average, followed by Tyler Storey (.833) and Bryan Dezern (.688). Acevedo also led the team in home runs, sending seven over the fence, while Austyn Dawe and Logan Rogers each blasted six, and Brent Zomer and Tyler Storey added five apiece.
2025 MEN’S BORDER BATTLE
The U.S. Men’s Slow Pitch National Team (MSPNT) proved dominant in the 2025 edition of Border Battle with a 38-21 run-rule (five innings) win over Canada’s Men’s Slow Pitch National Team to clinch its 13th overall Men’s Border Battle title. Combining for 32 hits in the win, the Eagles sent 10 home runs out of the park, with Ben Dunn tallying three and Jeremy Yates adding two. All 11 U.S. batters collected at least one hit, with 10 posting multi-hit performances, while Jeremy Fry led the Eagles at the plate with a perfect 5-for-5 outing.
Canada took an early lead with five runs in the top of the first, courtesy of three solo shots and a two-run long ball. The U.S. responded in the bottom half with 10 runs, highlighted by home runs from Yates, Heath Barnes, Dunn, and Tyler Marshburn. Canada answered with 10 runs of its own in the top of the second to regain the lead, 15-11. The U.S. kept momentum in the bottom of the inning with five runs, while Canada added two more in the top of the third. In the bottom of the third, five doubles and two home runs helped extend the U.S. lead to 25-17. Canada chipped away at the Eagles’ lead with four runs in the top of the fourth, but the U.S. bats exploded for a two-out rally to push 13 runs across in the bottom of the fourth and widen the lead to 38-21 — featuring home runs from Dunn, Yates, Fry, and Phil Matte. The U.S. shut down Canada in the top of the fifth to seal the 38-21 run-rule victory and make history with the most runs scored in a Border Battle game since the event’s inception.
Combining for a .694 team batting average and 111 hits through five games, the MSPNT offense was led by Dunn (.909), Fry (.882), and Andrew Collins (.857). Collins sent seven balls deep, followed by six from Dunn, contributing to a total of 35 home runs by Team USA.
Following today’s matchup, the U.S. Men’s Slow Pitch National Team has now clinched 13 titles — outnumbering the Canadian Men’s Slow Pitch National Team, 13-2, since the inaugural Men’s Border Battle in 2009.
