OKLAHOMA CITY – USA Softball announced today a list of athletes who have been identified by the Men’s National Team Selection Committee (MNTSC) for the Men’s National Team (MNT) athlete pool. A total of 35 athletes will be considered for selection to the 2024 USA Softball MNT who will compete at the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) World Cup Group Stage Event with hopes of punching a ticket to the 2025 WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Final.

“It’s certainly exciting to announce this group of players leading into 2024,” said head coach Ron Hackett. “We are excited at the blend of experience and youth we have in our program and this group of men embodies that. Building upon our most recent finish is paramount and our focus now is putting in the work to be in a position to become world champions in 2025. We have a great group here that will most certainly push each other towards that goal.”
Previously announced by USA Softball, the 2024 WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Group Stage event is slated for Sept. 17-21 at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex in Oklahoma City as The Softball Capitol of the World® will act as one of three host sites for the group stage. The upcoming WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup will be the first in its history to be played under the new two-stage format where the Group Stage and Finals will be held in consecutive years – with the Finals set to take place in Prince Albert, Canada on July 8-13, 2025.
As host of a WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Group Stage event, the No. 5 Team USA has been granted an automatic spot in its respective group event and will join eight additional qualified teams so far.
Members of the USA Softball MNTSC are responsible for selecting rosters to represent the United States in a variety of international competitions, including the Pan American Games and WBSC World Cups. Athletes wishing to get identified by the members of the MNTSC are encouraged to participate in Men’s Fast Pitch events and compete at a USA Softball National Championship.
