Renovations

Devon Park is owned by the city of Oklahoma City while the USA Softball National Office Staff operates and maintains the facility through a lease agreement. Welcoming over 200,000 fans annually, the facility has expanded from a two-field complex to now amassing four fields including the legendary Devon Park – OGE Energy Field. Since its opening, the complex has undergone various phases of renovations in effort of improving the overall experience for athletes, coaches, umpires, fans and media. All renovations are thanks to bond issues passed by the city of Oklahoma City.

Renovations to Devon Park – OGE Energy Field secured the venue as home of the NCAA Women’s College World Series through 2035.

Phase 1 Renovations: 2002-2003

The earliest renovations consisted of new restrooms, 519 new parking spaces and 3,000 added permanent seats along the first and third base sides of the stadium–increasing the seating of the stadium to 5,000. Field 2 was also refurbished within this phase of renovations while two new fields with lighting and covered concrete stadium seating were added west of the existing complex to expand park to a four-field facility.

Also included in this phase of renovations was a new upper concourse that connected the north fields with concessions and bathrooms as well as a new Hall of Fame Plaza and Sports Festival Esplanade–which consisted of a 300-foot-long, 40-foot-wide walkway for vendor tents and fan activities.
