OKLAHOMA CITY – USA Softball, a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization announced today that Matt Disher (Stevens Point, Wis.) has been named the Commissioner for USA Softball of Wisconsin. Disher transitions into this position following the retirement of current Commissioner Tom Rausch.
“I watched my father play when I was younger and then got involved with the Stevens Point Softball Association (SPSA) with him back in the late 90’s and it has been an integral part of my life ever since. I am excited to carry on the passion that he instilled in me to grow USA Softball throughout Wisconsin. Throughout my time with SPSA, I have gained experience with growing successful state tournaments and witnessing successful national tournaments, NIT’s and even bringing in the Olympic Team on their tours. I am ready to get to work and re-energize the excitement of USA Softball throughout Wisconsin!”
Disher steps into the role of Commissioner with a surplus of knowledge after serving as the Local Association Player Rep for USA Softball of Wisconsin, as well as his current position as President of Stevens Point Softball Association where he works to establish leagues and tournaments in his day-to-day. A true advocate for sport and the community, Disher also serves as an Executive Board Member and Committee Chair for his local Community Park Involvement Committee. Outside of USA Softball, Disher holds over 25 years of experience in the Insurance industry.
