OKLAHOMA CITY – USA Softball, a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization announced the appointment of Brett Williamson as Commissioner for USA Softball of Kentucky while also maintaining his position as Commissioner for USA Softball of Indiana.
“I have taken on many duties within USA Softball prior to this role and am anxious to utilize those experiences in my new position as Commissioner for USA Softball of Kentucky,” said Williamson. “Kentucky used to be a hotbed of softball for several years. I’m looking forward to doing what I can to rekindle the program back to its roots.”
Williamson adds the position to his resume while simultaneously serving as the Commissioner for USA Softball of Indiana – a role in which he took on in 2020. Also working as a USA Softball Umpire since 1996, Williamson became an administrator in the umpiring program in 2015. During his umpire tenure with USA Softball of Indiana, Williamson held the position of State Umpire-in-Chief (UIC), was recently appointed to the USA Softball National Umpire Staff as Region 6 UIC and has served on the USA Softball of Indiana Executive Board as an At-Large Member.
As an experienced and passionate umpire, Williamson also officiates high school basketball and football outside of USA Softball. Additionally, he has eight years of experience as a Seasonal Softball Site Supervisor and nine years of experience as a Department Manager. He currently works as the Manager of Kight Home Center in Owensboro, KY.
