OKLAHOMA CITY – USA Softball, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States, is excited to announce a non-exclusive partnership agreement with Polk County as a host site for top USA Softball events across a variety of divisions through 2025.
“We are thrilled to partner with Polk County as we continue to strengthen our relationship following the last several years of constant support from the organization across all levels of USA Softball,” said USA Softball Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Craig Cress. “From organizing a variety of grassroots events to being a proud host to the U.S. Women’s National Team during the pre-Olympic “Stand Beside Her” tour, presented by MLB, Polk County has continued to step up to the plate in hosting elite events and we are excited to see that continue throughout the next three years.”
As a part of the agreement, Polk County will serve as host for at least one top USA Softball event each year – this year playing host to the 16-Under and 18-Under Girls’ Fast Pitch Junior Olympic Cup, which took place July 6-11 at DiamondPlex Softball Complex. With a goal to build brand awareness for the county by showing support for the game of softball, Polk County’s ideals align with that of USA Softball in hopes to provide opportunities for participation while connecting and inspiring the softball community across all levels.
“Since the conception of Visit Central Florida Sports more than 25 years ago, softball has been at the core of our mission to bring top notch teams and competitions to play on Polk County’s championship quality fields,” said Executive Director of Visit Central Florida, Mark Jackson. “By partnering with USA Softball for the next three years, we’ve partnered with the very best in the sport and are excited to host National Championship events and look forward to a return visit by Team USA in the coming years.”
