MONTERÍA, Colombia — The U.S. Men’s National Team (MNT) has arrived in Colombia ahead of the 2026 Men’s Pan American Championship, slated to take place February 21–28. The Red, White and Blue will compete against top opponents from across the Americas with their sights set on securing a berth to the 2028 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Men’s World Cup Group Stage.

Coming off a historic gold medal finish at the 2025 The World Games, the U.S. MNT enters the tournament ranked No. 5 in the world and will compete in Group C alongside No. 8 Mexico, No. 11 Dominican Republic and No. 12 Guatemala. The 13-team tournament is divided into three groups with Group A featuring No. 3 Argentina, No. 21 Cuba, No. 22 Panama, Aruba and Puerto Rico, while No. 2 Venezuela, No. 4 Canada, No. 13 Colombia and No. 34 Peru will battle it out in Group B.
The Eagles will kick off the action on Saturday, Feb. 21 with a solo matchup against Mexico at 2 p.m. local time (1 p.m. CT). Team USA will return to the field Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. local time (9 a.m. CT) to face Guatemala before closing out Opening Round against the Dominican Republic on Feb. 23 at 12:30 p.m. local time (11:30 a.m. CT). The Super Round is scheduled for Feb. 24–27, followed by the Medal Round on Feb. 28.

Previously announced by USA Softball, the 16-player roster includes eight returners from the 2025 World Games gold medal squad, while Jon Gwizdala and Javier Caballero rejoin Team USA after competing at the 2024 WBSC World Cup Group Stage. Three athletes — Dante Biagini, Alan Salgado and Preston Sherman — are set to make their Team USA debuts in Colombia, while former U-23 Men’s National Team members Tommy Czech (2023), Jesse Cornell (2023) and Alejandro Gonzalez (2025) will make their MNT debuts. Returning to lead the U.S. is head coach Ron Hackett, who enters his seventh season at the helm of the MNT program. He will be joined by assistant coaches Matt Allen, Jimmy Kolaitis and Bob Piddock, each bringing extensive experience within various USA Softball National Teams programs.
Athletes selected to the MNT are part of the USA Softball athlete pool, having attended previous softball camps and clinics, league softball events and/or attended events coordinated by USA Softball.
