OKLAHOMA CITY – With 912 days until the 2028 Olympics Opening Ceremony, the LA28 Ticket Draw begins today (January 14, 2026) with Team OKC encouraging Oklahomans to register to receive priority access through local ZIP Codes. Registration will run from Jan. 14 to March 18.

Fans can visit www.LA28.org to register any time after 7 a.m. PT/9 a.m. CT. with registration being free. All registrants have an equal chance of being selected, regardless of when they sign up during the window.

Los Angeles is the host city of the 2028 Olympic Games with Oklahoma City staging two Olympic sports in their entirety on behalf of LA28. Olympic Softball will have 17 competition sessions with Team OKC designated as the local organizing entity coordinating Oklahoma City’s Olympic competition operations.

The No. 2 world-ranked U.S. Women’s National Team is hot off a 4-0 series win against Team Australia in the 2025 USA Down Under Series with head coach Patty Gasso at the helm. Gasso, entering her second season as Team USA’s head coach, was undefeated in 2025 with a gold medal finish and 5-0 record at the 2025 World Games.

As the Eagles march toward 2028, Team USA will look to continue its storied tradition in the Olympics Games, standing at the forefront of the sport on the world’s biggest stage. Holding a proud Olympic legacy, the Eagles have won three gold medals (1996, 2000, 2004) and two silver medals (2008, 2020).

In 1996, Team USA showed it was already a dominant force while competing in Atlanta, inspiring generations of athletes to dream of wearing red, white, and blue through their 3-0 victory over China in the finals.

The pinnacle of that legacy came to fruition in 2000 when the Eagles captured the gold medal in momentous fashion in Sydney, completing an undefeated run and cementing its place in history. The team followed that performance with silver medal finishes in 2008 and 2020, reinforcing the United States’ position as a global powerhouse in the sport.

Each Olympic appearance reflected not only competitive success, but also the values of teamwork, resilience, and excellence that define USA Softball. As softball prepares for its continued future on the Olympic stage, USA Softball remains dedicated to growing the game and strengthening the pipeline from grassroots participation to international competition.
