OKLAHOMA CITY —USA Softball has announced the U.S. U-23 Men’s National Team (MNT) roster that is set to compete in the 2025 Pan American Championship slated for September 13-20, 2025. The 16-player roster will travel to La Pampa, Argentina, where they will look to qualify for the 2026 WBSC U-23 Men’s World Cup set to take place in April next year.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead the U-23 Men’s National Team as we represent the USA at the highest level of competition,” said head coach, Tony Aresco. “Together, with assistant coaches Bob Piddock and Avon Meacham, we bring extensive experience to guide the inaugural U-23 men’s team on the international stage,” he added.
The 16-player roster marks the second U-23 MNT program in USA Softball history and the first to play in an international WBSC competition. Six members will join Team USA for the first time in their careers, while 10 veterans return to the Red, White and Blue after competing in previous seasons with the U-18 MNT and/or MNT. The selected athletes represent 12 states, with California leading the pack with three athletes apiece, while Pennsylvania and Wisconsin are each represented by two athletes. Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah and Washington are also represented on the roster with one athlete each.

At the helm of the U.S. roster will be previously announced head coach Tony Aresco, and assistant coaches Avon Meacham and Bob Piddock. The trio recently achieved a historic feat by guiding the U-18 MNT to a gold medal finish at the 2023 WBSC Americas Qualifier, marking the first medal won by a U-18 MNT roster in over 35 years, while also punching their ticket to the 2024 WBSC U-18 Men’s World Cup. Under Aresco’s leadership during the 2023 season, the U-18 MNT secured its second-highest finish in World Cup history with fourth place while signifying the first medal game appearance for the Red, White and Blue in 34 years. Adding to the squad’s resume, Aresco previously served as an assistant coach with the 2018 and 2020 Junior Men’s National Team (JMNT). Meacham garners a stacked resume, including seasons spent with the 2009 and 2013 MNT, while Piddock previously served as an assistant coach for the JMNT in 2018 and head coach in 2020.
“We hold high expectations for our athletes to demonstrate integrity and excellence, both on and off the field, to make the USA proud,” said head coach Tony Aresco. “I would like to express my sincere appreciation to USA Softball and the Men’s National Team Selection Committee for entrusting me with this responsibility,” he added.
