2025 WOMEN’S BORDER BATTLE
Solid at the plate and sharp on defense, the U.S. Women’s Slow Pitch National Team (WSPNT) secured its sixth-consecutive Border Battle title with a 12-5 victory over Canada, improving to a 6-1 overall record in the annual event. Ruby Richie led the U.S. with a single, double, home run, three RBI, and three runs scored. Additionally, Jessica Tolbert went 4-for-4 with four singles and two runs scored, while Fiana Finau launched two home runs to drive in three. Following a lone Canadian run in the top of the first, the U.S. got on the board early with four runs in the bottom half to take a 4-1 lead, thanks to a solo shot from Finau and a string of base hits. Canada briefly pulled ahead in the top of the third with a pair of triples and two singles, making it 5-4. Richie responded with a two-run homer in the bottom of the inning, followed by four straight singles that added two more runs to put the U.S. back in front, 8-5. Finau struck again in the fourth with a two-run blast, while a double from Richie and a single from Tolbert plated the final two runs in the bottom of the sixth to set the U.S. up to record the final three outs in the top of the seventh to seal the 12-5 win.

Leading the Eagles with a .917 batting average was Richie, followed by Licuanan (.800), Sarah Davis (.733), and Jessica Tolbert (.733).
