OKLAHOMA CITY — The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has announced Devon Park as one of three hosts for the 2026 WBSC Women’s World Cup Group Stage Events — joining Lima, Peru, and Prague, Czechia, as the Group Stage 2026 hosts. With the Group Stages taking place in 2026, the upcoming event is the second to be played under the new two-stage format where the Group Stage and the Finals are held in consecutive years. A total of 18 teams are divided into three groups of six teams each, with Lima, Oklahoma City and Prague each hosting one group. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Finals in 2027.

Oklahoma City is set to host an elite level of international women’s fast pitch softball for the first time in Women’s World Cup history, enhancing its status as the Softball Capital of the World®. After successfully hosting the 2024 WBSC Men’s World Cup Group C event, Devon Park is also scheduled to welcome the 2025 WBSC U-18 Women’s World Cup later this year, further establishing itself as a premier destination for international softball. The upcoming World Cup will mark the fourth time this prestigious tournament returns to the United States, with previous tournaments held in Stratford, Connecticut (1974), Normal, Illinois (1990), and Birmingham, Alabama (2022).
Known as the Softball Capital of the World® and home to the legendary Devon Park – OGE Energy Field, Oklahoma City has played host to some of the largest softball events in the United States – including the NCAA Women’s College World Series (WCWS), the World Cup of Softball, Border Battle and various USA Softball National Championships across all age-divisions. An infrastructure built for the sport’s largest crowds, the complex has seen improvements over the years with some of the most recent being an added upper deck that increased capacity by 4,000 seats, a three-story press box as well as upgraded ticket windows and complex entrances.
The 2024 Women’s Softball World Cup, recently held in Castions Di Strada, Italy, saw Team USA bring home the silver medal — with the Eagles leading the tournament with a 5-0 record before losing to Japan in the final match. Team USA earned their spot in the 2024 World Cup by maintaining an undefeated 4-0 record during the Group A Stage Event held in Fingal-Dublin, Ireland, in 2023.
