SHREVEPORT, La. – USA Softball, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States, concluded its 91st Annual Council Meeting after a week of various meetings and forums discussing the state of the sport and its hope for future growth. Over the course of the last week, USA Softball evaluated proposed code and rule changes for all divisions of USA Softball, announced 2024 National Championship locations and appointed Regional Vice-Presidents to the Board of Directors. Also highlighting the week was the 41st Annual National Softball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and the Wilson Awards Luncheon.

The awarding of USA Softball National Championships is considered one of the most anticipated decisions made by the council as each National Championship has the potential to have thousands of dollars in economic impact for the host city. USA Softball Elected Regional Vice Presidents
During the 2022 Annual Council Meeting, nine of the 10 Regional Vice Presidents were reappointed to the USA Softball Board of Directors (BOD) while Richard Merritt, USA Softball of Texas At-Large Player Rep, joins the BOD as the Southwest Region Vice President. Representing the 10 USA Softball Regions across the country are:
