equipment standards

USA SOFTBALL TESTING & CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
USA Softball has taken great strides to protect the integrity of the sport. Each year, the USA Softball’s Equipment Testing and Certification committee examines the current rules and specifications governing various items of equipment. This committee makes recommendations to the USA Softball’s council comprised of USA Softball commissioners, select youth and player representatives, umpire-in-chiefs, elite athletes and other affiliated members. The council is the ultimate decision maker of USA Softball rules and regulations regarding equipment.

USA Softball, Inc. (“USA Softball”) and/or USA Softball’s state/metro associations require the following individuals to undergo a screening: volunteer, contractor and/or employee who has access to minors in USA Softball programs. The screening may consist of (1) a Staff and Volunteer Application Form, (2) an interview, (3) consent to reference and fingerprint for a background check report, and/or (4) approval by staff and/or committee members.
