VERO BEACH, Fla. — The USA Softball High Performance Program (HPP) National Selection Event, presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods, has officially begun as athletes from across the United States arrive in Vero Beach, Florida. Taking place Dec. 4–7, the event will feature more than 400 registered athletes competing for the chance to represent the Red, White and Blue on a Junior Women’s National Team roster.

“The athletes participating this week have reached an incredible milestone in their softball journeys,” said USA Softball Chief Sport Development/Performance Officer, Chris Sebren. “After advancing from a local identifier, they’ve arrived in Florida to face the nation’s top talent. This is their moment to stand out as Top Performers and fight for a spot on a Junior Women’s National Team roster—a thrilling challenge that pushes them to give everything they’ve got.”

Over the past year, select athletes have advanced through various local HPP Identifiers and earned invitations to the Jackie Robinson Training Complex, where they will participate in on-field evaluations and scrimmages in hopes of being named a 2025 Top Performer. From this group—along with additional athletes identified by the Junior Women’s National Team Selection Committee (JWNTSC)—USA Softball will select rosters to represent the U.S. at upcoming domestic and international events, including the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-18 Women’s World Cup Group Stage Event and a Top Performers Camp in Oklahoma City, Okla., in June.

Showcasing more than 400 athletes from 44 states, the event features an action-packed three-day schedule for the 12U, 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U, and 17U age groups. Highlights include seminars led by current and former members of the Women’s National Team (WNT) and its coaches. Among those in attendance are WNT program athletes Sis Bates, Ally Carda, Erin Coffel, Taylor Edwards, Bri Ellis, Sam Fischer, Haylie McCleney, Michelle Moultrie, and Gwen Svekis. Nick Mullins will also be on-site representing the Men’s National Team (MNT). Additionally, Central Florida’s Christian Bernabe and professional softball players Silent Rain Espinoza and Kayla Wedl will join the event as well.

The public will be able to follow along with the action via live stream on HiCast. Streaming options include:

  • 7-Day Pass = $19.99.
    • Pass auto cancels after the 7th day.
  • Monthly Pass for single user = $19.99.
    • Pass auto-renews monthly, but can be cancelled at any time.
  • Family Monthly Pass for up to 4 family members = $29.99.
    • Pass auto-renews monthly, but can be cancelled at any time.

Live stats will be available via GameChanger.

The HPP was created in 2020 with the goal of identifying a pool of athletes to train, compete and represent USA Softball in domestic and international competitions. To learn more about the HPP or to get involved, visit USASoftball.com.
