OKLAHOMA CITY — Cameron Schiller (Prescott, Ariz.), former member of the USA Softball Men’s National Team (MNT) and two-time World Championship medalist, has officially announced his retirement. Schiller caps off a remarkable career representing the Red, White, and Blue, with his announcement coming on the heels of helping Team USA to a bronze medal finish at the 2025 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Men’s Softball World Cup Finals.

“I’m most proud of being part of the program’s continuous growth,” said Schiller. “What I’ll miss most are the people — I’ve always loved competing and felt honored to represent the USA, but when I look back, the most memorable moments are with the teammates, coaches, and staff I shared it all with,” he added.

Schiller joined the Men’s National Team in 2017 and quickly became a pivotal contributor, helping Team USA earn two WBSC World Championship bronze medals—including a historic 2022 run that ended a 22-year medal drought for the program. Most recently, Schiller led the Eagles to another bronze medal finish at the 2025 WBSC World Cup, batting an impressive .450. Over the last eight years, he has earned spots on more than seven MNT rosters, leaving a lasting impact on the program.

“Cam is one of those players that comes along once in a generation. His skills on the field are only matched by the quality of person he is off the field. His willingness to share knowledge with other players will greatly benefit Team USA moving forward,” said U.S. MNT head coach, Ron Hackett. “People often ask who could possibly be the next Cam Schiller, but the answer is simple: nobody! Cam will stand as one of the most accomplished players Team USA has had in many years, and he will be missed by all of us in the sport. That being said, he is leaving on his own terms while at the top of his game, and I wish him nothing but the best as he enjoys time with his wonderful family,” he added. “A special thanks goes to Kelli Schiller, Cam’s wife. The support she provides, especially during times spent away from family and work, is immense. Without such strong support, this would not be possible.”

Widely regarded as one of the top shortstops in the men’s fast pitch community, Schiller displayed exceptional defensive skills across more than 50 games during his eight-year career with Team USA. At the plate, the former MLB draftee tallied 192 appearances with a .262 career batting average. In 2025, he helped lead the Red, White, and Blue to a bronze medal finish at the WBSC World Cup Finals, going 9-for-20 with a .450 average, six runs scored, and three RBI—earning a well-deserved spot on the All-World Team.

“My advice to younger athletes is to truly enjoy every part of the journey. Embrace the process and soak in all the experiences because it goes by so fast,” said Schiller.

Schiller’s impact reaches beyond Team USA, having competed in numerous USA Softball Men’s Major National Championships and International Softball Congress (ISC) World Tournaments as a key member of the Northeast Drillers.
