Starting on June 24, 2025 the U.S. Women’s National Team (WNT) pool came together in Oklahoma to train. Between Love’s Field in Norman and Devon Park in Oklahoma City, the 18 players selected to the 2025 World Games roster and the remainder of the pool took part in practices, strength and conditioning sessions and scrimmages for a week, all while wearing the Red, White and Blue.
Day 1: Talking About Practice
It was a hot day in Norman on Tuesday, June 24 but that didn’t keep the Eagles away as over 35 athletes took to Love’s Field in Norman for the first day of practice. The day began in the batting cages and the weight room in the morning, followed by batting practice and defensive work out on the field that evening.

Day 2: Live Work
On Wednesday, June 25, the defensive work continued in the morning with drills at Love’s Field. After a lunch break and treatment, the squad met back at Love’s Field for a live scrimmage that night, showing what Team USA and the WNT pool had to offer.

Day 3: That Oklahoma Weather
Thursday, June 26 was primed to be the 2025 USA Softball All-Star Showcase, which would have featured a double-header between the WNT and remainder of the pool, but the Oklahoma weather got the best of Devon Park. With rain and storms pouring down on Oklahoma City, the decision was made to reschedule the games for Friday – but not before the athletes arrived in the rain.

Day 4: The Stars Aligned in OKC
Back at Devon Park, Team USA took on the All-Stars on Friday, June 27 for a double-header with Team USA coming away victorious in both. They won the first game 5-4 and the second 10-9, respectively.

Day 5 & 6: Working Into the Weekend
Saturday, June 28 the team said goodbye to the WNT pool with Team USA staying behind to practice for the next two days. With the squad heading to Chengdu, China, in August, it was time to create even more chemistry between the 18-person roster for the 2025 World Games.
