OKLAHOMA CITY — Announced Thursday by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), U.S. Women’s National Team member, Jessi Warren has been selected as a semi-finalist for the 95th AAU James E. Sullivan Award. Warren stands as the sole softball athlete nominated for the award.
The AAU James E. Sullivan Award honors an outstanding athlete in the United States and is based on athletic achievements and qualities of leadership, character and sportsmanship. Past winners include Caitlyn Clark (2022, 2024), Simone Biles (2020), Tim Tebow (2007), Peyton Manning (1997), Michael Phelps (2003) and dozens of others.
Semi-finalists were selected based on athletic performances throughout 2024. The public selects the award finalists and winner. The first round of voting runs from February 18, 2025 – February 25, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. EST. The winner of the award will be determined through a second voting period in mid-March.

Jessi Warren, member of the U.S. Women’s National Team, has been selected as a semi-finalist for the 95th Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) James E. Sullivan award!
Warren, a Florida native and former standout at Florida State, made her Team USA debut in 2024 at the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Finals in Italy, where she achieved a .444 batting average and received the Most Runs Batted In Award and an All-World Team selection. She played a vital role in securing a silver medal with a 5-1 record. At Florida State, Warren led the Seminoles to an NCAA title, appeared in two WCWS, and earned the Most Outstanding Player award in 2018. Since graduating in 2018, she has excelled professionally, winning the Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball AUX Defensive MVP twice and becoming the first player in the league to be named the top defensive player three times. Warren is known for her exceptional skills at third base and her leadership on and off the field. Currently, she is also attending nursing school, showing her commitment to making a positive impact.
The Sullivan Award winner will be announced on Tuesday, April 15 at the New York Athletic Club in New York City.
