OKLAHOMA CITY — The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has announced Devon Park as the host for the 2025 WBSC U-18 Women’s World Cup Finals slated for September 27 – October 2. With the group stages taking place in 2024, the upcoming event is the first to be played under the new two-stage format where the Group Stage and the Finals are held in consecutive years.

Previously hosting the 11th edition of the WBSC Junior Women’s World Cup in 2015, Oklahoma City is set to welcome this elite level of international fast pitch once again after 10 years. This marks the return of the event to the U.S. for the seventh time since its inception in 1981.
Known as the Softball Capital of the World® and home to the legendary Devon Park – OGE Energy Field, Oklahoma City has played host to some of the largest softball events in the United States – including the NCAA Women’s College World Series (WCWS), the World Cup of Softball, Border Battle and various USA Softball National Championships across all age-divisions. An infrastructure built for the sport’s largest crowds, the complex has seen improvements over the years with some of the most recent being an added upper deck that increased capacity by 4,000 seats, a three-story press box as well as upgraded ticket windows and complex entrances.
Earning their bid at the 2024 WBSC U-18 World Cup Group C Stage Event last year in Dallas, Texas, the Eagles are one of eight teams qualified for the Finals including world-ranked No. 2 Japan, No. 4 Chinese Taipei, No. 6 Canada, No. 8 Czechia and No. 12 China. Additionally, No. 3 Puerto Rico and No. 9 Mexico were awarded wild cards as the best third-place finishers, allowing them to participate in the Finals.

Although the finals were initially set to return to Dallas, they have now been relocated to Oklahoma City, allowing these young athletes the opportunity to compete at the world’s largest softball-only facility.
Held most recently in Lima, Peru, the 2021 U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup saw Team USA secure its eighth world title, capping an undefeated run with a thrilling 1-0 victory over Chinese Taipei to clinch the World Title.
