Washington – Baylee Klingler and Head Coach Heather Tarr

The Washington Huskies’ season came to a close on Sunday evening, losing a tight 1-0 matchup against the Stanford Cardinal. Baylee Klingler sent out the Huskies’ lone hit of the day – driving out a leadoff single to left field in the first inning. Closing out her career at Washington with a .420 batting average, Klingler collected a total of 204 RBIs while tallying 52 doubles and 57 home runs in the Purple and Gold. Head Coach Heather Tarr, Klingler and the rest of the No. 7 Huskies cap the year with a 44-15 record on the season.

Tennessee – Kiki Milloy

The No. 4 Tennessee Lady Volunteers kept their WCWS hopes alive on Sunday, taking down the No. 6 Oklahoma State Cowgirls, 3-1. Kiki Milloy singled to right-center to open the game and – after collecting a walk and stolen base – picked up a run in the third inning. Milloy and the Lady Vols advance to semifinal action where they face the No. 3 Florida State Seminoles on Monday, June 5 at 6 p.m. CT and look to force an if-necessary game – slated for 8:30 p.m. CT to earn a spot in the Championship Series.

Oklahoma State – Kelly Maxwell

The Oklahoma State Cowgirls concluded their season on Sunday at the hands of the Tennessee Lady Vols, 3-1, despite a solo homer and four hits on the evening. Starting in the circle for Oklahoma State, Maxwell struck out three batters in just over two innings of play — ending her four years as a Cowgirl with a career 1.58 ERA and 746 strikeouts in 494.2 innings pitched. Maxwell and the No. 6 Cowgirls end their season with a 47-16 record.

Following the conclusion of the WCWS, these athletes will represent the Red, White and Blue at the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) World Cup Group A event in Fingal-Dublin, Ireland held July 11-15. For more information on the 2023 WNT and its upcoming events, visit USASoftball.com.
