OKLAHOMA CITY – USA Softball, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States, is excited to partner with the Natasha Watley Foundation (NWF) in a Giving Tuesday campaign throughout the month of November. With a focus on raising awareness and highlighting the overall impact of each organization, the partnership aims to promote charitable giving during the holiday season while giving girls access to everything they need to be game changers – both on the softball field and in life.
As a nonprofit organization that champions young girls through character, community, and competition, NWF provides programs for girls in high-needs communities to expose them to the game of softball. Since its founding in 2009, the organization has impacted over 5,700 girls across the world while fielding more than 400 teams and providing 140 coach mentors to assist in guiding the younger generation. By leveraging the intrinsic power of softball, community, and the Four Points of the Diamond – discipline, dedication, dignity and duty – participants build confidence, softball skills and life skills that create a strong, lifelong foundation to lead them on their journey.
Culminating on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, USA Softball and NWF will look to utilize Giving Tuesday as a way to encourage others to invest in the women that lead and the girls that learn with a goal of raising $50,000 through the month of November. With each $29 donation, one NWF athlete will receive a uniform. With a $100 donation, that athlete will receive a uniform as well as full access to equipment and a coach mentor. To participate in the campaign and make a difference in the lives of young girls across the world, visit Give Lively USA 2022 or text “NWFUSA” to 44-321.
“We are so excited to partner with USA Softball and bring awareness to the Natasha Watley Foundation,” said NWF Director of Programs and Partnerships, Lexi Madrid. “It is an honor to have them highlight our work and our mission to raise awareness about the opportunities and the life skills the game provides. This month, we aim to highlight Natasha Watley’s jersey number, #29, and encourage $29 donations on the 29th of November. We hope that we can rally the softball community this Giving Tuesday and give girls in historically marginalized communities access to softball.”
