Had 35 year career as an umpire starting in city of Minneapolis in 1931. Replaced Einar Nelson as Metro Minneapolis commissioner in 1973. Between 1954-1971 served as assistant for George Dickstein. Officiated five Men’s Fast Pitch Nationals: 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956 and 1958. Started Minneapolis Umpires Association in 1951. Was elected president of organization in 1954. Is a member of the Minnesota ASA Hall of Fame. Passed away April 11, 1980 at age 66.
