Thirty five of the nation's top female softball players participated in the Women’s National Team Selection camp, June 11-15, in Chula Vista, Calif., and now 17-players move on to represent the U.S. this summer.
Fourteen members of the gold medal team from last summer’s World Cup and World Championship were named to the roster for the 2007 Women’s National Team including: Monica Abbott, Salinas, Calif.; Laura Berg, Santa Fe Springs, Calif.; Crystl Bustos, Canyon Country, Calif.; Andrea Duran, Selma, Calif.; Jennie Finch, La Mirada, Calif.; Tairia Flowers, Tucson, Ariz.; Vicky Galindo, Union City, Calif.; Alicia Hollowell, Suisun, Calif.; Lovie Jung, Fountain Valley, Calif.; Caitlin Lowe, Tustin, Calif.; Jessica Mendoza, Camarillo, Calif.; Cat Osterman, Houston, Texas; Jenny Topping, Whittier, Calif.; and Natasha Watley, Irvine, Calif.
New to this seasons roster are Kelly Kretschman, Indian Harbour Beach, Fla., Lauren Lappin, Anaheim, Calif. and Jennie Ritter, Dexter, Mich. Kretschman and Lappin have been on National Team rosters before including spots on the 2004 Olympic team while Ritter is making her first-time appearance at the National level after competing as a member of the World University Team in 2006.
Coaches for the 2007 USA Softball Women's National team will be Head Coach Mike Candrea (Casa Grande, Ariz.) from the University of Arizona, Assistant Coach Chuck D’Arcy (Sacramento, Calif.), Assistant Coach Karen Johns (Charlottesville, Va.) and Assistant Coach John Rittman, (Stanford, CA) from Stanford University.

About KFC World Cup of Softball
In 2006, over 25,000 fans from over 30 different states attended the five-day event where the USA reclaimed the World Cup from Japan in dominating fashion. The event was televised in over 200 different countries and watched by over eight million U.S. households.
Reserved seating for this year’s KFC World Cup of Softball has been expanded and fans are already taking advantage of the opportunity to reserve the best possible seat for the event. Pre-sales of tickets are already up 40% from last year at this time so fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets in order to reserve the best possible seat. Seat assignments requests will be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis
The pre-sale of reserved tickets includes all-session tickets only. All-session premium reserved seats are available for $100, all-session grandstand reserved seats are $50 and all-session general admission seats are available for $30. The all-session tickets include18 World Cup games plus fans holding a ticket for the KFC World Cup will have the opportunity to watch all eight games of the KFC American Challenge Series at no cost.
Individual session tickets will be available at a later date.
